“America’s Funniest Home Videos” Rerun Beats Out Megyn Kelly

CONSERVATIVE TRIBUNE reports:

Former Fox News star Megyn Kelly is certainly losing her luster as the second episode of her NBC program, “Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly,” failed to attract the viewers she is so desperate for. To add insult to injury, Kelly’s news magazine program was beaten out in rating by a rerun of ABC’s “America’s Funniest Home Videos.”

That’s just so sad, it’s funny.

According to TV By The Numbers, Kelly’s show came in third behind CBS’ “60 Minutes,” and “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” which were both garnered a 0.8 rating in the target adult 18-49 demographic.

Kelly’s show only had a 0.6 rating in the same demographic at the 7 p.m. time slot.

According to the ratings site, Kelly’s program had a total viewership of 3.61 million, which still was beaten by the 3.94 million viewers who tuned in to watch the rerun of the Alfonso Ribeiro hosted “Home Videos.” “60 Minutes,” however, did a lot better in terms of viewership, topping the list with 7.88 million.

That’s a pretty sad showing by Kelly, who in her first episode was able to hit a 0.8 rating and bring in 6.1 million viewers, as reported by the U.K. Daily Mail. The second episode saw a drastic drop in total viewership.

It looks like those numbers may decline even more considering that Kelly is receiving backlash for her interview with InfoWars’ Alex Jones, which is slated to air this Sunday. The controversial conspiracy theorist has questioned whether the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, was a hoax staged by gun control activists.

Kelly already lost out on a hosting job for the Promise Champions Gala put on by the Sandy Hook Promise organization, due to the interview, and advertisers have asked that their ads be temporarily pulled until after the interview airs, according to CNN.

Meanwhile, Tucker Carlson, the popular Fox News host whose nightly show replaced Kelly’s on the “fair and balanced” network has beengoing great guns since he started in the 9 p.m. slot. He has since moved to the popular 8:00 p.m. time after Bill O’Reilly’s departure from Fox.

That jump away from Fox might not be paying off so well for Kelly’s career.
