After winning the NBA championship, several of the Golden State Warrior’s teammates have made it very clear they do not like President Trump.
Rumors have circulated claiming the team had unanimously decided to skip a visit to the White House because Trump is mean or something.
Come on America…
Are we 7 years old again, acting like little immature children throwing a fit to get our way?
It’s still very feasible that the players and coach put politics before their country to bail on Trump. In fact, I would argue it is still very likely considering the team was so noncommittal.
Reported by yc,
It is pretty clear that some if not all of the Golden State Warriors are going to turn down the opportunity to visit Trump’s White House.
Steph Curry has already come out and said that his personal politics come before the country.
That’s really a shame.
Democrats used to preach about having respect for the office of president when Obama was there. Now? Not so much.
The Pittsburgh Penguins recently won hockey’s Stanley Cup and it looks like they are singing a different tune.
From The Wildcard:
With the media already running amok with unverified reports about NBA champion Golden State Warriors possibly boycotting a visit with President Donald Trump at the White House (they haven’t made any decisions yet), the Pittsburgh Penguins decided to step in front of the story before the mainstream media could take even more liberties with the truth.
“The Pittsburgh Penguins would never turn down a visit to the White House and, if invited, we would go as a team,” Penguins CEO/team president David Morehouse said in a prepared statement Tuesday.
That’s the way to do it!
Nice to see that some professional sports teams still understand that visiting the White House is a privilege regardless of if the president hurt your feelings or not.
It takes courage to go somewhere with people you disagree with.
It’s cowardly to stay home and avoid discomfort.
The Penguins are on the right side of this argument.
Props to them.
