“We Will Rape You For Days” Says Threat To Vermont State House Candidate – “Open Season For Republican Death.”
Republican candidate for Vermont state legislature, Deserae Morin received her first death threat letter on Saturday. “We will rape you for days,” the threatening letter said before it continued, “open season for Republican death.” The threatening note was put together with letters that had been cut out from newspapers or magazines.
The letter says “Cunt, we are hunting you. My comrades will kill you and the Constitution. First, we will rape you for days. You will scream and know that agonizing horror. No equal rights for republicans. Socialism is here. Open season for Republican death in Vermont. Fear our revolution. AA. It’s time”
The response that Morin received from the community who pushes the “believe women” and “believe victims” narrative was sickeningly hypocritical.
When she posted a picture of the letter to her Facebook, it blew up with comments from the left who accused her, a victim, of lying.
Jace Laquerre, former Vermont delegate to the national GOP, reached out to the media about the threatening letter. He says that some of the letters were cut from campaign material Morin hands out.
“I think it’s a reflection of the state of politics in America,” Laquerre said Sunday. “It’s turned ugly and divisive and partisan and personal.”
On Saturday, the Vermont state police said that they were investigating the threatening letter sent to Morin. One person took credit for the letter on Facebook but it isn’t clear if this claim is credible.
The comments that Morrin received over the threat that was mailed to her shows the partisan nature of this new #metoo movement.
Though it sounds like an empowering sentiment for those who have been victimized, it has turned into a political pawn. Their sentiments of “believe women” and “believe victims” really mean, “believe liberal women” and “believe liberal victims.”
If a republican or conservative woman has claims of threats or abuse, they flip the script and no longer follow what they’ve been pushing for left leaning women who make claims of sexual abuse.
