‘I Like Pissing People Off’: Tim Allen Won’t Apologize for Being a Funny Conservative!

Tim Allen doesn’t feel bad at all for his right-leaning jokes on his popular TV show “Last Man Standing.” In an interview with  Indiewire, Allen discussed the cancellation of his show, the return of the same show and being one of the few conservatives on the scene.

In 2017, “Last Man Standing” fans were disappointed to hear that ABC would be cancelling the show.  Fans also believed the decision was made by ABC because of its right-leaning message.

ABC, of course, denied these allegations, though the show had high ratings. Luckily for conservative fans everywhere, Fox ended up picking up the popular show.

Tim Allen has taken some hilarious swipes at his old network in the promotions for the launch of “Last Man Standing” on his new network.

In his last interview Allen commented that his show was never about politics, instead, it’s about family. He also said that he doesn’t care if his character on the show offends anyone, actually he gets enjoyment out of ruffling some feathers.

“I’ve always said that, certainly, relationships are politics. The political discourse between a male and female energy is politics. And children, that’s all political stuff. I like to mess around because I’ve been a standup fiery comic for 30 years. And I like pissing people off, and I said there’s nothing, especially in this area, that pisses people off more than a very funny conservative. A smart, funny conservative that takes shots and is certainly self-effacing.”

Allen added that, though he doesn’t mind the conservative statements and jokes, he doesn’t go as far as breaking down political headlines in his show.

In fact, they have never even mentioned Donald Trump’s name in the show. Again, the show is about a real family that America can relate to, not politics.

“The left-wing point of view is so pervasive that they don’t even realize it’s a point of view. It is just a point of view. I think this character likes that, he likes to have another point of view. It makes him sharper and more interesting. But we don’t push it. I don’t think we’ve mentioned pro or con Trump once now.”

The great ratings of the show and other shows like it, that have since been canned (Roseanne), reveal how much America craves down to earth, real conservative family shows like this one.
