Jeb Bush: Donald Trump ‘Couldn’t Have Been Nicer’ After His Father Died.
Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush praised President Donald Trump on Tuesday after the president called him to offer his condolences.
Trump’s former opponent for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016 had some nice things to say about Trump during a Wall Street Journal event in Washington, DC.
Jeb said that his granddaughters joined the first lady Melania and some other members of the Bush family on Tuesday to tour the White House and see the beautiful Christmas decorations.
Jeb added that both the president and the first lady were “really gracious” to the family.
He said that Trump would not be delivering the eulogy for his father because George W. Bush obviously had “first dibs.”
“What people want to talk about is, well, why isn’t the president giving the eulogy?’” he said. “It’s because we have a unique circumstance here: my brother was president.”
When talking about the phone call Trump gave him after his father died he commented that the president “couldn’t have been nicer.”
George W. Bush did an absolutely beautiful job doing the eulogy for his father.
